A school in Aoba City has a new bell. The bell does not only ring. It says, "Good morning."

At first, students were surprised. The bell spoke at 8:20 on Monday.

"Good morning. Please go to class," it said.

Many students liked it. One student said, "It is nicer than a normal bell."

The bell also says, "Lunch time is here," at noon. Some students clap when they hear it.

There is one small problem. On rainy days, the bell says, "Good morning," in a very sleepy voice.

A teacher said the bell is working well.

"But now students say good morning to the wall," she said.

The school may add one more line next month: "Do not run."
