The Post Office for Dreams
A tiny post office inside a mailbox returns one forgotten dream.
Riko found the tiny post office inside an old red mailbox.
At first, she thought it was a toy. There was a small desk, a lamp, and many envelopes.
One envelope moved by itself and came to the slot.
On the front, it said: To the dream he forgot this morning.
Riko looked down the street. A little boy stood near the corner. He held a soccer ball, but he did not move.
“Are you okay?” Riko asked.
The boy shook his head. “I had a dream. I was brave. But I forgot it.”
Riko put the envelope into the mailbox. A warm light filled the slot.
The boy blinked. Then he smiled.
“I remember,” he said. “I kicked the ball into the sky.”
He ran to the park with the ball.
Inside the mailbox, a tiny bell rang once.
Another envelope slid forward.
This one had Riko’s name on it.
She did not open it yet. Some dreams were better after lunch.
